‘One-stop’ environmental and waste disposal management

The Reclay Group is a group of companies in the area of environmental and waste disposal management. With its specialist subsidiaries, it offers an extensive and comprehensive service that provides efficient and legally compliant packaging disposal and recycling, and also sustainable management. The Reclay Group, which is managed by its owners Martin Schürmann and Raffael A. Fruscio, employs 130 people at its sites in Cologne, Herborn, Vienna and Rotkreuz/Switzerland. The Reclay Group currently provides consultancy services for over 400 companies from trade and industry and continues to grow. It generated sales of around EUR 135 million in the financial year 2010 as an independent group of companies that is equity financed. The Group is not linked to a waste disposal company and can operate flexibly on the market.

The foundations of the Reclay Group as it is today were laid by Martin Schürmann and Raffael A. Fruscio when they set up Reclay GmbH in 2002.  The industry experts provided manufacturers and companies putting packaging into circulation for the first time with advice on the optimisation of their disposal obligations, with great success. In the years that followed, against the background of the amendments to the German Packaging Ordinance, the dissolution of the monopoly centred on the Green Dot and the emergence of the dual systems market in Germany, they developed an increasingly extensive range of services. This led to the foundation of the specialist Reclay Group subsidiaries. Today, the Group offers a ‘one-stop’ service portfolio that is unique in the market of environmental and waste disposal management. The Reclay Group brand now comprises Reclay GmbH, Curanus GmbH, Liz GmbH, Redual GmbH, Reclay Österreich GmbH, Reclay UFH GmbH, RE|CARBON Deutschland GmbH, WEM GmbH and RE|PLA Cycle GmbH.

Areas of operation

The subsidiaries of the Reclay Group provide services throughout the entire supply chain of packaging disposal and recycling as well as in the area of sustainable management. Reclay GmbH focuses on the provision of consultancy services for associations, public companies and major market participants concerning issues relating to the German Packaging Ordinance. It also actively participates in advising committees on amendments to the German Packaging Ordinance. With its six registered industry solutions in accordance with § 6 section 2 of the German Packaging Ordinance, Curanus GmbH offers a complementary service to the dual waste disposal systems that is tailored to the individual customer situation. As a full-service supplier, Liz GmbH combines the entire range of services relating to packaging and waste disposal management and presents efficient, comprehensive solutions. Redual GmbH is a nationwide dual system pursuant to § 6 section 3 of the German Packaging Ordinance and is the third largest system operator in Germany. Reclay Österreich GmbH offers consultancy services for the Austrian market relating to licensing issues for packaging. The system business of Reclay Österreich GmbH is handled by Reclay UFH GmbH. WEM GmbH provides modern materials flow management with services that close the gap in the supply chain for closed substance cycle waste management. RE|CARBON Deutschland GmbH focuses on the topic of sustainable management. The company provides customers with support for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs. Its services include comprehensive CO₂ strategy consultation, the calculation of carbon footprints and the carbon offsetting of packaging.
